Text messages (SMS)
MessageMediator (a GermProof service) texts people on behalf of MessageMediator members, and texts members about their own account.
What messages you get
- Messages a member chooses to send you. A MessageMediator member writes a message to one of their contacts, reviews it, and sends it to your mobile number. Each text starts with the sender's name.
- Replies. When you reply, your reply goes back to the member who wrote to you (and, if you are the member, replies to your messages come to you).
- Reminders. Reminders a member sets up, such as a planner reminder or a reminder to reach out, when they choose text.
We never send marketing or promotional texts, and we never text a number unless a member confirmed that the person agreed to receive texts from them.
How people opt in
Before the first text to a mobile number, the member who is sending must tick a box confirming that the person agreed to receive texts from them through MessageMediator, with this wording:
By checking this box I confirm this person agreed to receive texts from me through MessageMediator (a GermProof service): the messages I choose to send them, replies, and reminders. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. They can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
The first text to a number also says it came through MessageMediator (a GermProof service) and how to opt out.
The details
- Message frequency varies with how often people write to you and reply.
- Msg & data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to opt out of all texts from MessageMediator. You get one confirmation and nothing more. Reply START to opt back in.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at messagemediator.com/contact.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
What the sender sees before the first text
This is the consent box exactly as a member sees it before MessageMediator sends the first text to a mobile number. The text cannot be sent until it is ticked.
