Message Mediator

MessageMediator extension: privacy policy

Effective October 15, 2026. Applies to the MessageMediator browser extension for Chrome and Edge.

The short version

What the extension can see

To underline your writing, the extension runs on the pages you visit and looks at text fields you type into. That text stays on your device. It is not recorded, logged or sent anywhere while you type.

What is sent, and when

Only when you click Revise on a paragraph: that paragraph's text and your choices (more formal, more polite, more concise), together with your extension sign-in token. The page address, the rest of the field, and other paragraphs are not sent.

Who processes it

MessageMediator (our servers on Cloudflare) and the AI model provider that produces the revision (Anthropic's Claude, through our AI gateway; a Cloudflare Workers AI model is a disclosed backup). Providers process the paragraph only to return the revision, under terms that do not allow training on it.

Your account

Signing in links the extension to your MessageMediator account with a token stored in the extension. Signing out deletes it on our side. Your account data is covered by the MessageMediator privacy policy.

Stored on your device

Your on/off settings, the sites you turned off, and the sign-in token, in the browser's extension storage. Uninstalling the extension removes them.

Permissions

Children

The extension follows the same age rules as MessageMediator accounts.
